GREENCRAFTS

This year Greencrafts are once again bringing a fantastic line-up of workshops and activities to ATN! Ireland’s leading craftspeople and makers share unforgettable experiences - from making your own silver ring, to carving a wooden spoon, to forging hot metal; if you’re looking to channel your inner creativity then this is the place to be!

The ‘Green’ in their name was coined by Greencrafts over thirty years ago as they sought to capture the environmental sustainability focus of the craft villages they create. For the last three decades they have been leaders on green thinking in the festival industry, and this is a core part of your experience in the village. The focus is on natural, recycled, ethically and sustainably sourced materials, and traditional hand, wind or solar powered working methods.

Sit amongst the trees carving wood or weaving willow, and create something beautiful to remember your festival with, crafted with your own hands. Feel the elemental forces of fire, earth, air and water, perhaps having a go at the blacksmith’s forge shaping and moulding red hot metal. Take a moment to ground and reconnect. Creating with your hands is profoundly positively for your mind, body and soul. Combining this with the beautiful setting of their craftspeople’s unique individual workspaces, the outdoors beauty, and while handling natural materials and engaging in skill-share, makes this a massively positive, creative and holistically nourishing festival experience.

The first hour of the morning is Greencrafts Happy Hour, where everything happening on the field is free!

The Greencrafts village is open every day from 10am until 6pm. Although the area is focussed towards adults, accompanied children are welcome (activity dependant). You can drop by or book a spot directly with the craftspeople onsite. All levels welcome (no previous experience necessary).
